Komentar Apple Pasca Google I/O 2013

Pertanyannya kemudian, bagaimana komentar Apple?

“Folks don’t want to search. They want to find,” katanya.

Sekarang, setelah memiliki muka, OpenMandriva butuh sesuatu lagi: nama distro. Mau nyumbang?

Let’s Ride That Spherical Cow!

Oh, well. Now that the Spherical Cow is here. Let’s ride it. Shall we?

GNOME Spherical Cow

There are new features and new things. But, here are the highlights from this version:

  • Linux kernel 3.6.11 ~this means more device drivers and hardware support
  • X.org X Server 1.13.1 ~of course, more graphic cards supports. Hopefully my ATi problme will be solved
  • GNOME 3.6.2 ~the Nautilus maybe a catastrophe (quoting Clement Lefebvre). But, you can change to Cinnamon, or KDE, or MATE, or else.
  • Firefox 18.0 ~up to date Firefox designed for Fedora
  • LibreOffice 3.6.3.2 ~let’s make some documents!
New Anaconda Installer
New Anaconda installer makes installation much smoother and faster

An here are the new features you can find:

  • System Storage Manager a.k.a. SSM, an easy-to-use command-line interface tool to manage your devices, storage pools, volumes, and snapshots. It also includes StorageManagement, a collection of tools and libraries for managing storage area networks (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS).
  • Offline system update ~this should be handy and useful. But, it is currently integrated into GNOME desktop.
  • Samba 4 ~file and print sharing and now supports Active Directory (AD)
  • Cloud support ~welcome Eucalyptus and OpenStack’s Folsom
  • Virtualization management ~support the latest version of oVirt

This Fedora 18 stil has bugs which includes installing on PCs locked down with Windows 8’s UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) Secure Boot. But, you still can deactivate your secure boot option. So, that wouldn’t be a problem, would it?

Now, write it on your CD or your USB stick.
